REIKI HEALING
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing therapy. It’s based on the notion that all humans have energy fields, or life forces, which keep us alive. This energy is referred to as the “Life Energy" that flows through all living things. We all have the ability to connect with our own healing energy and use it. REI (means “Soul”) KI (means “Energy”). Reiki was first introduced by Master Mikao Usui in 1922. It then made its way to the West in 1938.
According to the practice, physical, mental, and emotional issues can occur if this energy is low or becomes blocked.
The body consists of 7 energy sectors called Chakras that are positioned in a straight line through the center of the body starting at the top of the head and end at the root of the torso. These energy sections are believed to affect us emotionally, physically, mentally and even spiritually when out of balance.
The purpose of Reiki is to promote good health by balancing these energy fields. It’s done by a Reiki practitioner, who places their hands on or just above your body to redirect energy. With the permission of the recipient, some points are done by direct contact, with a gentle placement of the hands by practitioner. The practitioner serves as a channel for this vibrational energy life force from the Universe to travel to the recipient allowing the body to go into natural healing mode and create balance.
Our bodies accumulate constant stress becoming irritated, suffer headaches, stomach aches, muscle tension and pain, anxiety, restless sleep and even depression, The body natural healing ability begins to create blockage declining our physical, mental and emotional health.
The practitioner transmits this Life Energy through the palms of his/her hands, palms down, gently scanning the body over the head, torso and limbs and encouraging healthy flow of energy.Although there is not scientific proof that Reiki leads to the cure of illnesses, there are many benefits.
As a practitioner I have come across many questions over time and a here are a few of the most common questions:
What are the benefits of Reiki?

“Because it works on the entire self – mind, body and emotions – and because it is universal life force energy, reiki may be successful in all types of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing,” Reiki Master Victoria Bodner, LMT
Does Reiki replace traditional treatments?
Reiki should not be used to substitute the consultation of a physician.
“Reiki complements other types of medical and therapeutic treatments, and it can increase the efficacy of other types of healing,” Reiki Master Victoria Bodner, LMT
How can you receive Reiki?
Reiki can be received in person or distance.
Who can receive Reiki?
Reiki can be received by recipients of all ages, anywhere and anytime. Elders, children, expectant mother, and even animals.
Who should I receive Reiki from?
A well-trained and attuned Reiki practitioner who receive training in person from a certified Reiki master.
How will Reiki feel?
Some will feel the energy in sensation of heat, tingling, or pulsing where the practitioner has placed his/her hands or hoovered. Some will feel sensations moving through the body. Others may not feel anything at all. There could be a rush of emotions in the first session, while there may be no reaction at all, although they me feel somehow better afterwards. The most common experience in almost all recipients and an immediate feeling of relaxation and release of stress.
As a practitioner, If the recipient does not tell me exactly what they are feeling, I will let the body tell me where it needs healing and balance. I will feel this through different sensations transmitted to me from the recipients heat and energy.
What happens during a Reiki session and how long does it last?
The recipient lays on a message table, fully clothed. The practitioner will gently scan the body with his hands, palms face down, about 2-3 inches over the body and focusing on specific locations depending on the energy felt. Some limbs may have direct touch with recipient’s permission. There are about 12 hand positions used throughout the scanning.
A session can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. The amount of time the practitioner leaves hands in each position depends on the flow of energy felt through their hands.
Although we continue to have skepticism about Reiki, there are many medical institutes using it in there treatments.

Thank you Isabel and Beatriz. I feel it’s important to help people be aware of the more holistic forms of healing. Our bodies, and mind are capable of healing themselves in so many ways. As well as remembering that they can be used hand in hand when more conventional treatments are still needed.
So pleased you enjoyed the article.
Beautiful and educational article. I love Reiki and all the benefits this type of healing brings. Thank you for paying this important information.
Thanks for this useful information. I prefer this way of healing myself than others, like taking different types of pills 💊, whose long-term effects are worse than the disease itself
